Electrical Fitters/Electricians - Military and Defence Sector - Southampton Area

Permanent Role - Attractive Salary + Shift Allowance and Paid Overtime

Multiple Electrical Fitters/Electricians are required for an international Defence and Weapons Systems Company that is expanding its team. Flexible working arrangements are available, and these positions offer Paid Overtime and Shift Allowance if shifts are required.

The Electrical Fitters/Electricians will be part of the Electrical Fitting Team, reporting to an Electrical Team Leader. They will be involved in the Fitting, Maintenance, and Testing of Electrical Systems and Equipment on Military and Defence Platforms.

The Electrical Fitters/Electricians will receive a competitive salary and excellent company benefits. You will work alongside like-minded electrical fitters, electricians, and apprentices within a supportive and dynamic team environment.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

1. Reading and interpreting electrical drawings and technical guidance.
2. Carrying out electrical testing on 12V, 24V, 110V, 240V, and 440V systems.
3. Executing various crimping and soldering techniques.
4. Performing electrical installation, maintenance, and defect rectification in line with project schedules to meet quality standards.
5. Installing, testing, and maintaining communications equipment such as VHF radios, Intercoms, GPS, and AIS.
6. Conducting fault diagnosis and defect rectification procedures.
7. Carrying out detailed electrical system inspections.
8. Using all electrical and technical measuring equipment proficiently.
9. Calibrating measurement electrical systems equipment as required.

Skills, Experience, and Qualifications

• Completed an electrical trade apprenticeship or naval/marine equivalent qualification.
• Good understanding of safe systems of work, including electrical safety.
• Experience working in confined spaces and at heights.
• Marine or offshore electrical experience is advantageous.
• Potential for some international travel in line with role demands.
