Job summary

Lighthouse Electric Co., Inc. seeks an Electrical Field Training Lead to raise on-site installation quality through hands-on training, coaching, and real-time correction across Journeyman Wiremen, Lead Wiremen, and Foremen.

You will model proper installation techniques, develop standard operating procedures, and mentor field crews in preparation, fabrication, and documentation while aligning with Lighthouse safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Strong hands-on electrical training and coaching abilities.
  • Experience training field personnel across Journeyman to Foreman levels.
  • Familiarity with electrical installation methods including prefabrication and modular installs.
  • Working knowledge of QC/CX field checks and field documentation requirements.

Job description

The Electrical Field Training Lead supports consistent, high‑quality electrical installation by providing hands‑on training, coaching, and real‑time correction across all field levels, including Journeyman Wiremen, Lead Wiremen, and Foremen.

Responsibilities
  • Perform electrical installation work alongside field crews as a player‑coach, demonstrating Lighthouse means and methods and reinforcing accountability for quality, planning, and execution.
  • Model proper installation techniques, productivity expectations, and professional job‑site behavior.
  • Identify, correct, and retrain installation habits and inconsistent practices before they scale across crews or projects.
  • Train and mentor field personnel at multiple levels (Journeyman, Crew Foreman, Foreman) in technology and information use, apprentice oversight, crew leadership behaviors, and installation standards.
  • Demonstrate and reinforce Lighthouse standard work for robotic total station layout, prefabricated assembly layout and installation, material handling discipline, rework prevention, grounding, bonding, labeling, device installation, finish quality, raceway installation, supports, routing, and layout.
  • Update and participate in documenting standard operating procedures.
  • Teach the proper use of all enterprise‑level deliverables and ensure they translate into correct field execution, including PLD, VDC, fabrication, logistics, QA/QC/CX, and cost deliverables.
  • Coach field personnel on documentation expectations such as escalation paths, installation checklists, daily log quality, and production planning fundamentals (6‑week look‑ahead concepts, weekly work planning, sequencing, and handoffs).
  • Support prefab and modular installation by providing structured feedback to fabrication, VDC, and PLD teams, training crews on prefab drawings, labels, and install intent, and installing prefab assemblies alongside crews.
  • Support engineering and construction leaders by reducing execution variability, addressing skill gaps, and communicating recurring field issues, trends, and improvement opportunities to Workforce Development and enterprise teams.
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies, procedures, and the Collective Bargaining Agreement, and perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
  • Strong electrical construction background with high field credibility.
  • Hands‑on experience working alongside crews, proven ability to train, coach, and correct field personnel across varying experience levels.
  • Strong understanding of electrical installation methods and means, including prefabrication and modular electrical installation.
  • Working knowledge of QC/CX field checks, documentation requirements, and total station layout fundamentals.
  • Ability to translate enterprise systems and deliverables into practical field execution.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and ability to influence without formal authority.
  • Ability to work under pressure, adapt to changing job‑site conditions, and meet deadlines.
  • Professional representation of Lighthouse Electric on customer‑facing jobsites.
  • OSHA 10 required; OSHA 30 preferred.
  • Proficiency with field tools: Bluebeam, PlanGrid, Navisworks viewer, QuickBase (field‑facing), Microsoft Office.
  • Strong understanding of IBEW JATC programs and Inside Construction Agreements.
  • Experience as an IBEW apprentice, journeyman, and foreman on large construction projects.
  • Experience with electrical construction prefabrication.
  • Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Journeyman Wireman classification through IBEW; experience across multiple IBEW Local Unions and portability rules.
Preferred
  • Experience coaching or leading field crews in an electrical construction environment.
  • Exposure to enterprise‑level deliverables such as PLD, VDC, fabrication, logistics, QA/QC/CX, and cost documentation.

Additional Requirements

  • Physical demands: ability to remain stationary for extended periods, move around job sites, operate computers and equipment, communicate effectively, tolerate moderate noise, work indoors or outdoors, maintain attendance, and travel as required.
