Project Overview

Port Arthur LNG, LLC (PALNG) is developing a liquefied natural gas (LNG) production and export facility on the western shoreline of the Port Arthur Canal in Jefferson County, Texas. The project base scope will include two identical LNG trains, two LNG storage tanks, one LNG carrier berth, and associated utilities and facilities. The infrastructure global business unit is executing site civil and marine scopes related to the Energy GBU LNG projects.

Job Summary

In this role, you will provide project field engineering specialization and expertise with work planning and packaging, material management, quantity verification and validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing knowledge, and subcontract coordination. Your recommendations will ensure field engineering activities operate safely, are complete, and conform to quality standards and project requirements.

Major Responsibilities
  • Prepare construction drawings and sketches; lead preparation of construction drawings and schedules; design temporary construction facilities; prepare "as built" drawings and other job plans.
  • Initiate requisitions for field purchases; prepare quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment; verify commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems.
  • Ensure zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others in the operational area; ensure tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.
  • Proactively pursue continuous learning or appropriate learning activities.
  • Develop a firm understanding of system and area scoping and drawings required for package development.
  • Review and approve inspection test plans; coordinate reviews of subcontractor submittals; coordinate subcontractor reviews.
Education and Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8–10 years of relevant experience, or 12–14 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills
  • Experience with the NEC.
  • Experience with NETA.
  • Experience with electrical safety practices including lockout/tagout.
  • Experience energizing electrical systems rated 600 V and below.
  • Experience energizing medium voltage systems.
  • Ability to read one‑line and three‑line diagrams and familiarity with relay settings.
  • Experience working on the U.S. Gulf Coast is preferred.
  • Ability to acquire Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
Additional Information

Work includes field inspections and the physical ability to conduct inspections requiring extensive walking around a construction site, climbing ladders, scaffolding, and elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces and in small or confined spaces. Some lifting may be required. Must be able to walk into and out of the project site and use appropriate standard issued PPE. Willingness to work a flexible schedule, possibly including night shift or split shift.
