Job summary

Fisk Electric, a Tutor Perini Company, seeks an Electrical Field Engineer for our Los Angeles, CA office. You will provide engineering support to ensure heavy civil construction aligns with design, codes and standards.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's in electrical engineering or related field and 3+ years of construction experience, preferably with an electrical subcontractor. Proficiency in MS Office; Primavera P6 is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, construction management or similar from an accredited institution.
• 3+ years of construction experience.
• Experience with electrical subcontractors is preferred but not required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Primavera P6 knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare construction work plan packages and coordinate pre-construction meetings.
• Execute daily construction plans with Superintendents and Project Manager.
• Review project plans and develop a construction schedule with project-wide activities.
• Coordinate testing activities and prepare test result reporting.
• Execute punch list activities and coordinate with subcontractors on material deliveries.
• Prepare and distribute work activity schedules and communicate across teams.
• Monitor field construction, perform layout checks and technical reviews.
• Assist in monthly reporting for progress payments, schedules and issues.
• Develop relationships with owners, subcontractors, consultants and field personnel.
• Assist in obtaining permits and coordinating quality control and close-out.

Description

As an Electrical Field Engineer at Fisk Electric, reporting to the Project Manager, you will provide technical/engineering support to ensure heavy civil construction work complies with the design, technical requirements, codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare construction work plan packages and coordinates pre-construction meetings while ensuring that all prerequisites to start construction activities are identified and completed.
• Execute daily construction plans in coordination with Superintendents and Project Manager.
• Review project plans and develops a construction schedule in coordination with project-wide activities.
• Coordinate testing activities and prepare test result reporting
• Execute punch list activities.
• Coordinate with subcontractors on advance material acquisitions and pre-construction deliverables
• Prepares, updates and distributes work activity schedules/updates, and communicates across discipline groups and agencies to ensure proper advance notifications and coordination of start times.
• Monitor and participates daily in field construction process. Provides layout checks and technical reviews of work against requirements. Obtains confirmations from design engineer as needed
• Assist in preparing monthly reporting for progress payments, schedule updates, and problem/issue tracking and resolution. Provides accurate and factual assessments of project performance.
• Develop and manages relationships with owners, subcontractors, consultants and field personnel
• Develop quality checks and coordinate permits from appropriate entities
• Assist in preparing crossing applications and work plans, assuring quality control, etc. by subcontractor
• Manage and submits project close-out in coordination with the client and third parties

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, construction management or similar from an accredited institution
• 3 or more years of construction experience.
• Experience working for an electrical subcontractor is preferred but not required.
• Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office, Primavera P6 is a plus.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
