Job summary

LF Driscoll, part of the STO Building Group, is seeking an Electrical Estimator in Bala Cynwyd to develop and prepare electrical cost estimates for diverse projects in the early development stages and to support the project team with updated cost information throughout the pre-construction phase.

You will review plans and drawings, perform quantity take-offs, solicit bids, analyze proposals for conformance, and maintain a centralized estimating database to drive accurate, timely bids across

Qualifications

• BS or BA in construction/management/engineering/architecture or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in estimating, construction engineering, or related duties in general contractor estimating and purchasing.
• Open to candidates moving from field operations to preconstruction.
• Excellent computer skills (MS Office/Excel) and well-developed budgeting, purchasing and organizational skills.
• Earns and maintains trust by demonstrating honesty, accountability and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Review plans and MEP drawings and prepare quantity take-offs.
• Solicit subcontractor bids and analyze bids for conformance to specs, price and quality.
• Attend client meetings and resolve pricing questions; ensure client satisfaction.
• Develop and maintain centralized cost estimating database and process to support estimating.
• Analyze completed projects to compare estimated vs actual costs and recommend improvements.
