Job summary

Solid Rock Recruiting, LLC. is seeking an Electrical Estimator for our Sioux Falls-based client, a well-established electrical contractor with a strong local reputation.

The role focuses on preparing accurate estimates for commercial and industrial projects, reviewing plans, and coordinating with project teams to deliver competitive bids. The candidate will leverage estimating software and industry knowledge to ensure thorough pricing and risk assessment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of electrical estimating experience.
• Strong understanding of commercial electrical construction.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical plans, specifications, and construction documents.
• Experience performing electrical takeoffs and developing labor and material estimates.
• Strong knowledge of electrical materials, installation methods, and construction costs.
• Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams.
• Electrical field experience is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate estimates and competitive bids for commercial and industrial electrical projects.
• Review project plans, specifications, drawings, and bid documents.
• Perform detailed material and labor takeoffs.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricing.
• Develop complete project estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and other project costs.
• Work with project managers, field personnel, vendors, and customers throughout the estimating process.
• Identify scope gaps, potential risks, and cost-saving opportunities.
• Assist with bid preparation, proposal development, and final pricing.
• Participate in project turnover from estimating to operations.
• Maintain organized estimating records and pricing information.
