A leading company in electrical construction is seeking an Electrical Estimator for multi-family residential projects in Charlotte, NC. The role involves preparing bid documents, cost estimates, and collaborating with project management. Candidates should have strong estimating skills and experience in construction technology. The position offers a dynamic work environment with opportunities for growth.
General Summary: Estimators are responsible for preparing and completing bid documents and cost estimates for electrical construction projects. The Estimator controls the construction costs by collecting and studying information, evaluating bid specifications and drawings, ensuring they know what is required to successfully bid and win projects.
Mandatory Hiring Requirements: Resume, References, Background Check, Drug Screen Testing, Valid Driver’s License, Journeyman License preferred but not required
Responsibilities:
Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate
Prepare estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work and enter into computer estimating system; review computer reports for accuracy and completeness.
Request quotes from suppliers for materials and equipment.
Identify qualified suppliers/subcontractors and solicit quotes. Review quotes for completeness with established plans and specifications.
Itemize and quantify all incidentals necessary in preparing the bid packages including subcontract work, equipment rentals, tools and suppliers.
Prior to the issuing of formal bid packages, provide principles a detailed review of scope, technical requirements and pricing for the estimated bid package.
After the successful bid at project turnover, meet with Project Management to fully explain the estimate, scope of work, quotes and offer aspects for the successful transition of the project.
Responsible for the timely completion of all client-required documents.
Draft scope letter inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications for estimate figures.

Position Requirements
License: Must possess a current state driver's license.
Certifications:Applicable federal, state, and local certifications as required by job conditions or by the company.
Education:High School Graduate or GED.
Education and Experience: Minimum of 2-years prior estimating experience preferred.

Physical requirements: Sitting and standing for extended periods, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending and lifting (up to 40 lbs.)
Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning. Noise levels are usually low to medium levels.
