Job summary

Enterprise Electrical in Round Rock, TX, is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Estimator to lead large commercial and mission-critical project bids. You will perform quantity takeoffs, prepare complete estimates, review drawings, and develop labor strategies while coordinating with project teams.

The ideal candidate has 6–10+ years of estimating experience, strong NEC knowledge, and a proven ability to mentor junior estimators.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of field and estimating experience.
• Strong preference for candidates with field leadership background (foreman, superintendent).
• OSHA 30 certification and a valid driver’s license.
• Journeyman or Master Electrician license strongly preferred and CPE preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform quantity takeoffs from drawings for conduit, feeders, lighting, panels, devices, and low-voltage/data systems.
• Prepare complete estimates for service work (T&M, troubleshooting, quoted jobs, maintenance agreements) and small-to-mid-size commercial construction projects.
• Review drawings, specifications, service tickets, and field input to fully define project scope.
• Develop labor estimates based on installation methods, site conditions, and productivity expectations.
• Build detailed material lists and pricing using vendor quotes and historical data.
• Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor quotes (e.g., trenching, directional boring, equipment setting).
• Write clear scopes of work for subcontractors and internal execution teams.
• Respond to rapid-turn service pricing requests, often requiring same-day or next-day turnaround.
• Identify scope gaps, overlaps, and inconsistencies prior to bid submission.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and jobsite walkthroughs to validate scope and site conditions.
• Coordinate directly with: Service managers, Project managers, Superintendents and field supervisors.
• Support project turnover by explaining estimate assumptions, labor strategy, and scope coverage to operations.
• Maintain and update cost databases, vendor relationships, and pricing benchmarks.

Key Responsibilities

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Strong working knowledge of electrical construction and service operations, including installation of conduit systems, feeders, panels, and lighting
• Ability to independently read and interpret full drawing sets, specifications, and one-line diagrams
• Working knowledge of National Electrical Code and its impact on scope and cost
• Ability to build labor estimates based on real-world installation methods, not just templates
• Strong understanding of material pricing, availability, and market conditions
• Ability to identify constructability concerns and adjust estimates accordingly
• Strong analytical skills to evaluate subcontractor quotes and perform bid leveling
• Ability to manage multiple bids and service requests simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment
• Effective communication skills with field teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders
• Proficiency in estimating software, Bluebeam/PlanSwift, and Microsoft Excel for pricing and analysis

Required Education and Experience

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred OR equivalent combination of advanced field and estimating experience
• Strong preference for candidates with field leadership background (foreman, superintendent)

Certifications/Licenses:

• OSHA 30 required

• Journeyman or Master Electrician license strongly preferred

Experience Requirements:

• 6–10+ years of electrical estimating experience
• Proven experience leading estimates for:
  • Large commercial construction projects
  • Mission critical/data center projects
  • Demonstrated ability to develop labor strategies and manage complex bids
  • Experience working directly with clients, GCs, and senior operations leadership
  • Proven ability to mentor and develop junior estimators
