Job summary

Austin Commercial in Phoenix seeks an Electrical Estimator to perform quantity/cost take-offs, develop unit costs, and clarify data with design professionals. You will review plans, distribute bid documents, and build vendor relationships to support competitive bids.

Requires 3–5 years of electrical estimating experience, strong math/analytical skills, and proficiency with estimating software. BS/BA in a related field preferred; excellent communication and negotiation abilities are essential.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of Electrical Construction estimating experience.
• BS/BA in engineering, construction science, architecture, or related discipline preferred.
• Familiarity with construction materials, means, and methods.
• Strong math and technology ability with an analytical mindset.
• Proficient in relevant estimating and quantity take‑off software.
• Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities.

Responsibilities

• Quantity/Cost Take-Offs
• Develops accurate and concise clarifications and assumptions
• Identifies conflicts/missing data and obtains clarification on plans and specifications from design professionals
• Distribution of bid documents
• Develops unit costs
• Advances knowledge in building designs, systems, and construction materials through available resources
• Understands the project/program and its requirements
• Obtain and review proposals and quotes by subcontractors or vendors
• Detailed review of all documents including specifications for identification of onerous requirements
• Builds relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, suppliers, architects, etc.)
