Job summary

Liberty Personnel Services, Inc. seeks an Electrical Estimator for a growing Central New Jersey contractor specializing in commercial and industrial electrical construction. The role involves owning estimates from plan review to bid submission and working with project teams.

Candidates should have 2–7+ years of electrical estimating experience, be proficient with takeoffs and pricing, and familiar with Accubid, ConEst, OST, or similar software. Local NJ project exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

  • 2–7+ years of electrical estimating or electrical construction experience.
  • Experience with a commercial or industrial electrical contractor.
  • Ability to independently develop estimates and manage multiple bids.
  • Strong understanding of commercial/industrial electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, one-lines, specifications, and scopes.
  • Experience with estimating software (ACCUBID/ConEst/OST) and pricing databases.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Office.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Own estimates from initial plan review through final bid submission
  • Prepare accurate and competitive electrical estimates and proposals
  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs from drawings, specifications, and construction documents
  • Review electrical plans, one-lines, specifications, and project scope
  • Develop labor, material, equipment, vendor, and subcontractor pricing
  • Solicit, evaluate, and level vendor and subcontractor bids
  • Identify scope gaps, exclusions, risks, and potential cost issues
  • Participate in bid reviews, scope analysis, and value engineering
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, field personnel, vendors, subcontractors, and leadership
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings and occasional project/site visits
  • Maintain historical costs, estimating databases, and current pricing information
  • Ensure estimates are accurate, complete, competitive, and submitted on schedule

Commercial & Industrial Electrical Construction

A growing and well-established non-union electrical contractor in Central New Jersey is seeking to add an Electrical Estimator to its team. This is an excellent opportunity for an estimator who is ready to take ownership of projects, manage estimates independently, and continue growing with a stable and successful contractor.


The company has a strong backlog of commercial, industrial, warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, healthcare, and institutional projects, providing consistent exposure to a diverse range of electrical construction work. Projects are based throughout Central & Northern New Jersey.


The successful candidate will have meaningful responsibility for developing estimates, analyzing project scope, coordinating pricing, and helping determine the best approach to winning profitable work.


Responsibilities include:


  • Own estimates from initial plan review through final bid submission

What We're Looking For


  • 2-7+ years of electrical estimating or electrical construction experience

  • Experience with a commercial or industrial electrical contractor preferred

  • Ability to independently develop estimates and manage multiple bids

  • Strong understanding of commercial and/or industrial electrical systems

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, one-lines, specifications, and scopes

  • Experience with Accubid, ConEst, McCormick, OST/On-Screen Takeoff, or similar estimating software

  • Working knowledge of NEC requirements and electrical construction practices

  • Strong analytical, mathematical, organizational, and communication skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with project management, field personnel, vendors, and leadership


Strong electrical construction professionals with significant field experience who have transitioned into estimating are also encouraged to apply.
