Job summary

Hillard Electric, Inc is seeking an Electrical Estimator to join its growing team in Cedar Springs, Michigan. The role focuses on analyzing project plans, preparing take-offs, and using ACCUBID/TRIMBLE software to generate cost estimates.

You will collaborate with project managers, engineers, and the Preconstruction team, utilize CRM for tracking estimates, read blueprints, and ensure NEC compliance while pursuing accurate, timely bids.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in electrical construction or service industry or similar degree.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems and construction practices.
• Willingness to learn estimating software and tools.
• Proficient with Word, Excel and other Office programs.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines.

Type: Full time permanent employment

Location: Cedar Springs, MI

Responsibilities:

• Analyze project plans, specifications, and requirements to determine accurate cost estimates
• Prepare detailed take-offs and material quantities for bidding purposes
• Learn and use ACCUBID/TRIMBLE estimating software for creating cost estimates
• Research and gather pricing information from suppliers and subcontractors
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop accurate cost estimates
• Utilize CRM (contact relationship software) to track and manage estimates
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and codes, such as NEC (National Electrical Code)
• Collaborate with Preconstruction team to develop comprehensive project proposals

Requirements:

• Previous experience in electrical construction or service industry or similar degree.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems and construction practices.
• Willingness to learn estimating software and tools.
• Use of Microsoft Office programs and software (Word, Excel, Office .. etc.)
• Understanding of computer file structures, moving files, folders etc.
• Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications is REQUIRED.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines.
