Job summary

Precision Electric Company in Lakeside, CA is seeking two on-site Estimators to prepare accurate cost estimates for commercial, industrial and residential electrical projects. You will review plans, perform quantity take-offs, and analyze labor, material and equipment costs to support bid proposals.

Collaborate with project managers, field staff and clients to clarify scopes, update cost databases, and track bid results.

Qualifications

Role Description The Estimator is a full-time, on-site role based in Lakeside, CA, responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for electrical projects in commercial, industrial, and residential settings. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing plans and specifications, performing quantity take-offs, and analyzing labor, material, and equipment costs. The Estimator collaborates with project managers, field supervisors, and clients to clarify project scopes, identify value engineering options, and support bid proposals. This role also involves preparing detailed bid packages, tracking bid results, updating cost databases, and assisting with budget development and project change orders. The Estimator is expected to maintain organized records, meet bid deadlines, and support continuous improvement of estimating processes.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical and numerical skills for cost estimating, quantity take-offs, and budget preparation.
• Knowledge of electrical construction methods, materials, and industry standards, including reading blueprints and technical drawings.
• Proficiency with estimating software, spreadsheets, and general computer applications used in project bidding and costing.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with project managers, field staff, vendors, and clients.
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management to handle multiple bids and meet deadlines.
• Relevant experience as an Estimator in electrical contracting or construction; experience in Southern California markets is a plus.
• Knowledge of local building codes, safety regulations, and permitting processes is beneficial.
