Job summary

Parra Electric, Inc. in Glen Mills, PA is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator with a strong residential estimating background to join our team.

You will independently review plans, perform takeoffs, develop accurate pricing, and manage estimates from start to finish for residential and commercial projects. This is not an entry-level role; you should have hands-on estimating experience, read blueprints, and work closely with homeowners, builders, and general contractors to deliver

Qualifications

• Residential electrical estimating experience is REQUIRED.
• Strong knowledge of residential electrical systems and construction.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications and blueprints.
• Experience performing complete electrical takeoffs.
• Strong understanding of electrical labor and material costs.
• Strong working knowledge of the NEC and electrical construction practices.
• Ability to develop accurate scopes of work and proposals.
• Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines independently.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and follow-through.
• Proficiency with computers and estimating/takeoff software.
• Applicants without residential electrical estimating experience will not be considered.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for residential and commercial electrical projects.
• Review plans, specifications, drawings, bid documents, and addenda.
• Perform detailed electrical takeoffs.
• Develop accurate labor and material costs.
• Obtain and review vendor and subcontractor pricing.
• Identify scope gaps, exclusions, conflicts, and potential project risks.
• Prepare detailed proposals and scopes of work.
• Manage multiple estimates and bid deadlines simultaneously.
• Track outstanding bids and follow up as needed.
• Communicate professionally with homeowners, builders, general contractors, vendors, project managers, and field personnel.
• Review project requirements prior to turnover to operations.
• Prepare pricing for change orders, revisions, and additional work.
• Maintain organized and accurate estimating records.
• Work closely with ownership, operations, and project management.

Parra Electric, Inc. is a locally owned and operated electrical contractor serving residential and commercial customers throughout Southeast Pennsylvania and surrounding areas for more than 25 years.

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Estimator with a strong residential electrical estimating background to join our team in Glen Mills, PA. Commercial electrical estimating experience is highly preferred.

This is not an entry-level estimating position. The right candidate must have hands-on experience estimating residential electrical projects and be able to independently review plans and scopes, perform takeoffs, develop accurate pricing, prepare proposals, and manage estimates from start to finish.

Preferred Qualifications

• Commercial electrical estimating experience strongly preferred
• 5+ years of electrical estimating and/or electrical construction experience
• Electrical field experience
• Experience working directly with homeowners, builders, and general contractors
• Experience with electrical estimating and takeoff software
• Experience pricing change orders and project revisions
• Experience taking an electrical project from initial bid through turnover to project management

You should be able to receive a set of plans or project scope, understand what is required, complete the takeoff, determine appropriate labor and material costs, prepare an accurate proposal, meet the deadline, and communicate effectively with both customers and our internal team.
