Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced Permanent Electrical Estimator (Substations) in the United States to deliver accurate cost estimates for electrical substation projects, from labor to materials and equipment. The role collaborates with project teams to interpret plans and ensure code compliance.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in substation estimating, strong skills with Accubid and EBM, and a proven ability to develop competitive bids.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years in electrical estimating, focused on substations and/or transmission or MV/HV utility projects.
• Proficient with Accubid and EBM estimating software.
• Strong understanding of electrical code compliance.
• Excellent ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Proven track record preparing accurate cost estimates and proposals.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates for electrical substation, transmission, and BESS projects, including labor, materials, and equipment.
• Review blueprints, plans, and specs to understand scope and requirements.
• Ensure compliance with relevant electrical codes and regulations.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to gather estimate details.
• Prepare and submit competitive proposals and bids to win new projects.
• Use Accubid and EBM to improve estimate accuracy and efficiency.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Permanent Electrical Estimator (Substations). In this role, you will be vital in shaping the future of our company by providing accurate cost estimates for electrical substation projects.

Responsibilities

1. Preparing cost estimates for electrical substation, transmission, and battery energy storage system (BESS) construction projects, including labor, materials, and equipment.
2. Reviewing and interpreting blueprints, plans, and specifications to understand the scope of work and to determine project requirements.
3. Ensuring compliance with all relevant electrical codes and regulations.
4. Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and contractors to gather detailed information for estimates.
5. Preparing and submitting competitive proposals and bids to secure new projects.
6. Utilizing Accubid and EBM software to improve the accuracy and efficiency of estimates.

Qualifications

1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical estimating, with a focus on substations and/or transmission and/or MV/HM utility projects.
2. Proficiency in Accubid and EBM estimating software.
3. An in-depth understanding of electrical code compliance.
