Job summary

KEP Electric in Cincinnati, OH is seeking an Electrical Estimator to join our in-office estimating team. Responsibilities include cost estimation for electrical projects and collaboration with Division Managers to ensure accurate budgets.

Ideal candidates bring 2–4 years of experience in residential Single-Family or Multi-Family construction and proficiency with estimating software. We value attention to detail and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is a plus.
  • Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator with residential Single-Family and Multi-Family projects.
  • Proficiency in estimating software or similar tools is strongly preferred.
  • Solid knowledge of electrical systems, components, and installation techniques.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members, vendors, and clients.
  • Ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must pass pre-employment screening including background check, drug screening, and MVR as required by policy.
  • Reliable transportation for regular attendance.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor industry trends, labor costs, and material pricing to maintain accurate estimates.
  • Maintain organized records of estimates and supporting documentation.
  • Perform additional duties to support the estimating department.

KEP Electric is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Electrical Estimator to join our dynamic estimating team in Cincinnati, Ohio. This in-office role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of our projects through accurate cost estimation and collaboration with our team of Division Managers. Experience in Single-Family or Multi-Family projects is a strong plus!

What You'll Do

Specific Qualifications

What You Bring:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is a plus.
  • Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator, with a strong understanding of residential Single-Family and Multi-Family construction projects.
  • Proficiency in estimating software or similar tools is strongly preferred.
  • Solid knowledge of electrical systems, components, and installation techniques.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills, with keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members, vendors, and clients.

  • Ability to successfully pass pre-employment screening, including a background check, drug screening, and motor vehicle record (MVR) review, as required by company policy.
  • Reliable transportation to ensure regular and punctual attendance.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a desk and using a computer.
  • Ability to view and read construction drawings, specifications, spreadsheets, and digital documents for extended periods.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in person, by phone, and through email.
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach, bend, or move around the office.
  • Ability to occasionally lift or carry office materials, plans, files, or equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment
  • This is an in-office position based in Cincinnati, Ohio.
  • Work is performed in a professional office environment with regular use of computers, phones, printers, and standard office equipment.
  • The role requires regular interaction with Division Managers, project managers, vendors, subcontractors, and other internal team members.
  • The position may involve occasional visits to job sites, meetings, or vendor locations as needed.
  • Job site visits, when required, may involve exposure to typical construction site conditions, including noise, dust, uneven surfaces, active equipment, and varying weather conditions.
  • The work environment is fast-paced and deadline-driven, especially during bid preparation and project estimating periods.
