Job summary

Abacus Solution Group is seeking an Electrical Estimator in the Aberdeen, MD area to join our team. The ideal candidate will be numbers-driven, detail oriented, and able to prepare accurate estimates for residential and commercial projects. You will gather data, review drawings, visit sites, and work with vendors to develop bids.

Monday to Friday 7a-4p; compensation $75,000–$90,000 per year. Reports to VP of Estimating.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience as an electrical estimator in residential and commercial.
• Five (5) years of electrical field work experience.
• Experience as electrical estimator.
• Attended a certified electrical apprenticeship program.
• Proficient with estimating software like Viewpoint or ConEst.

Responsibilities

• Acquire understanding of the project requirements and provide an accurate estimate.
• Select metrics to produce valid estimates.
• Visit sites, warehouses and other venues to gather essential information.
• Review documents or consult experts to collect all necessary data.
• Analyze data and produce forecasts.
• Prepare detailed reports or bids for submission to appropriate parties.
• Select advantageous deals by evaluating offers and quotes.
• Foster relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, architects etc.).
• Familiar with all aspects of electrical codes to produce a design and build an estimate.
• Other duties as assigned involving estimates and/or pricing of any change related to items.

The electrical estimator will calculate possible costs and gains of construction projects. You will collect and analyze data according to a series of useful variables. The ideal candidate will be very comfortable with numbers and analytical. You must have great attention to detail and excellent communication skills. The goal is to provide the company with accurate estimates. This position reports directly to VP of Estimating.

Duties

Compensation:

$75,000-$90,000 per year
