Estimating/Bid Coordinator

We are a Commercial Electrical Contractor seeking an experienced, self-motivated, and organized Estimating/Bid Coordinator.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Description:

A dynamic personality with excellent hard and soft skills to manage processes, build customer relationships, and process responses to customer requests. The right candidate will be able to expertly handle proposal preparation, bid submission, and follow-up on responses or requests for discounts on behalf of the company. Excellence in customer service, proficiency in Excel, and strong written communication skills are essential.

  • Support Project Management with bidding activities, including updating the bid board and calendar, maintaining electronic and hard copy files, requesting quotes, copying plans, data entry, and creating project books.
  • Complete Pre-Qualification documents.
  • Manage FTP site for bid document coordination with subcontractors.
  • Create proposals and bid packages, and oversee bid submission processes.
  • Follow up on required actions and communicate award results via phone and email.
  • Coordinate management reviews and approvals during proposal development.
  • Answer phones, greet visitors and applicants, and manage correspondence.
  • Support all departments as needed, including field personnel.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and 10-key.
  • Professional interaction with field personnel, office staff, and owners.
  • Project administrative experience in the construction industry with at least 3 years of experience.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Highly organized, efficient, able to handle multiple tasks under deadlines, and willing to assist where needed.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
