Job summary

Airswift has been engaged to secure an Electrical Engineering Technician for a one-year W2 contract in Spring, TX. The role follows a 7/7 12-hour shift pattern and involves supporting both distribution and transmission systems under minimal supervision.

The candidate will operate within safety guidelines, assist in restoring service, monitor loads, and document events. CAD/CAPS/DLT credentials are favorable, with MS Office and SCADA experience valued.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in power distribution or related field.
• Education in CAPs/DLT encouraged.
• CAPS/DLT encouraged

Responsibilities

• Operate distribution system within safety guidelines.
• Support restoration procedures to restore service quickly and safely.
• Monitor load and communicate abnormal conditions to field crews.
• Maintain daily log of distribution system events for planning and compliance.
• Coordinate and dispatch field teams to minimize downtime.

Airswift has been tasked by one of our major clients to find a Electrical Engineering Technician to work for initially One Year contract in Spring, TX.

Work Schedule: 7 Days On; 7 Days Off - 12 hours shift

Job Type: W2 contract (One Year with possibility for extension)

As a Power System Operator, you're responsible for the safe operation of the distribution system and our Transmission system. This position identifies and initiates corrective action as needed in a timely manner to optimize operating conditions including service restoration procedures while working under minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensures the system is operated within established company loading and safety guidelines.
• Assist in the direction of distribution service restoration procedures to restore service in a timely, efficient, and safe manner.
• Assists in monitoring load and initiates communications to field for load abnormalities on facilities to ensure proper load flow and adequate voltage levels under direct supervision.
• Maintains a daily log on all events occurring on the distribution system to assist in future operation of the system, developing a history to assist in planning and design of facilities, and complying with regulations.
• Handels all Alarming aspects from related equipment and dispatches field team to minimize down time and production
• Assists in the preparation of work clearances on distribution lines and substation equipment to assure safety to employees.
• Participates and completes assigned training activities.
• Performs all essential aspects and functions of the job as well as any other specific job requirements.

Work Expectations

The position is in a diverse work group operating 24-hours a day through rotating shifts.

Rotating shifts: 12 Hour hitch Days & Nights currently 7/7 will move to 14/14 in the future Be flexible and adaptable.

• Experience with Aspen Tech Monarch Scada would be a plus

Education & Experience

High school diploma, GED or equivalent is required.

Candidates with Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree or greater in an electrically related field are encouraged to apply.

4+ years of experience in a power distribution role or other related experience is required.

Candidates with Distribution Operations and/or Distribution field experience are encouraged to apply.

Candidates with Craft Advancement Progression Skills (CAPS) or Distribution Lineman Training (DLT) certification are encouraged to apply.
