Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform point-to-point testing of electric distribution field devices and distribution substation equipment.
• Coordinate testing schedules and logistics with engineering teams, line crews, troublemen, control center operators, and substation personnel.
• Prepare for testing activities and ensure resources and stakeholders are aligned before execution.
• Execute testing within established utility processes and controlled operating environments.
• Track testing progress, results, issues, and completion status using Microsoft Excel and PowerApps.
• Provide clear and timely status updates to engineering, operations, and project stakeholders.
• Troubleshoot issues encountered during testing and coordinate with appropriate technical teams to drive resolution.
• Support distribution-related projects and initiatives involving SCADA, ADMS, outage management, FLISR, and Volt/VAR optimization.
• Work collaboratively during planning and preparation while independently executing testing activities.
• Support occasional field visits as needed to understand equipment and operations.

This position will support testing activities primarily in Texas while collaborating with teams supporting Colorado and NSP service territories.

The engineer will coordinate testing logistics, schedule activities with field and operations teams, execute point-to-point testing, and track and communicate testing results. The role offers exposure to utility technologies including SCADA, ADMS, outage management systems, and distribution automation initiatives.
