FBSPL is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Technician to design, program, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC-based control systems and electrical equipment in a manufacturing setting.

You will support engineering and capital improvement projects, work with OEMs, and ensure compliance with NEC and NFPA 70E safety requirements while maintaining thorough documentation.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years hands-on industrial electrical/electrical technician experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Associate degree in Electrical Technology, Industrial Electronics, or related field.
  • Strong experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Design, modify, build, install, and troubleshoot PLC-based control systems and control panels.
  • Program and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation and AutomationDirect PLCs.
  • Troubleshoot PLC hardware, I/O modules, communication networks, and industrial automation equipment.
  • Read, interpret, and update electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and one-line diagrams.
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot VFDs, servo drives, sensors, actuators, motion controllers, and HMIs.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical and automation systems.
  • Respond to electrical and automation breakdowns and perform root cause analysis to prevent recurring issues.
  • Support engineering teams with equipment upgrades, capital projects, installations, and commissioning.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Technician to support the design, programming, troubleshooting, maintenance, and improvement of PLC-based control systems and electrical equipment within a manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on technical role responsible for maintaining reliable and efficient electrical and automation systems while supporting engineering and capital improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, modify, build, install, and troubleshoot PLC-based control systems and control panels.
  • Program and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation and AutomationDirect PLCs.
  • Troubleshoot PLC hardware, I/O modules, communication networks, and industrial automation equipment.
  • Read, interpret, and update electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and one-line diagrams.
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot VFDs, servo drives, sensors, actuators, motion controllers, and HMIs.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical and automation systems.
  • Respond to electrical and automation breakdowns and perform root cause analysis to prevent recurring issues.
  • Support engineering teams with equipment upgrades, capital projects, installations, and commissioning.
  • Work with OEMs and vendors for technical support, equipment issues, warranty matters, and spare parts.
  • Maintain accurate electrical, PLC, maintenance, and technical documentation.
  • Ensure all work complies with NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA, and applicable safety requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Electrical Technology, Industrial Electronics, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10+ years of hands-on industrial electrical/electrical technician experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, AutomationDirect, Siemens, or equivalent PLC platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of single- and three-phase electrical systems, motor controls, industrial wiring, and conduit installation.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and PLC ladder logic.
  • Experience using electrical diagnostic equipment such as digital multimeters, clamp meters, oscilloscopes, megohmmeters, and thermal imaging cameras.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
  • Experience with EtherNet/IP, Modbus, Profibus, and industrial networking.
  • Experience with managed switches and industrial cybersecurity fundamentals.
  • Experience troubleshooting servo drives, motion control systems, and multi-axis applications.
  • HMI development and programming experience.
