Job summary

Kodiak Robotics, Inc. invites an experienced technician to join the Electrical Engineering team in Mountain View. You will contribute hands-on by building high-quality harness assemblies, performing testing on electrical components, and supporting prototype test setups in a collaborative environment.

You will inspect harness builds, manage BOMs, and maintain a clean, safe lab. A background in prototype builds and lab equipment, plus soldering and crimping skills, is essential for success.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in an R&D or development lab with engineering collaboration.
• Experience with prototype builds, testing and operating test equipment.
• Experience reading and building harnesses from harness drawings.
• Comfortable using soldering iron, multimeter, and crimping tools; oscilloscope is a plus.

Responsibilities

Job description

Kodiak Robotics, Inc. was founded in 2018 and has become a leader in autonomous ground transportation committed to a safer and more efficient future for all. The company has developed an artificial intelligence (AI) powered technology stack purpose-built for commercial trucking and the public sector. The company delivers freight daily for its customers across the southern United States using its autonomous technology. In 2024, Kodiak became the first known company to publicly announce delivering a driverless semi-truck to a customer. Kodiak is also leveraging its commercial self-driving software to develop, test and deploy autonomous capabilities for the U.S. Department of Defense.

In this role, you will help build and test critical hardware products for Kodiak autonomous trucks. We’re looking for someone to be hands‑on with our products as well as an experienced technician who is able to support a diverse set of technical projects. An ideal candidate is someone who is local to the Bay Area and excited to collaborate with a diverse and dedicated team.

In this role, you will:

What you’ll bring:

• 5+ years of experience working in an R&D or development lab environment in close collaboration with engineering staff.
• Experience with prototype builds, testing and operating test equipment
• Experience reading and building harnesses from harness drawings
• Comfortable using soldering iron, multimeter, and crimping tools. Experience with oscilloscopes would be nice to have.
• Good interpersonal skills with ability to work effectively with other individuals in a team or project setting
• You are self‑motivated and able to work with little supervision, consistently take the initiative to get things done, do things before being asked by others.
• Ability to consistently make timely decisions even in the face of complexity; balancing systematic analysis with decisiveness

The pay range listed below reflects the base salaryin our SF/Silicon Valley location,across several internal levels. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors including: work location, experience, relevant training, education, skill level and performance during interview. Total compensation at Kodiak includes base pay, equity, bonus and a competitive benefits package
