Job summary

Teledyne Technologies Incorporated is seeking an Engineering Technician to troubleshoot and maintain a major production line. You will design and fabricate test fixtures, repair testers, and analyze schematics to identify root causes of failures.

The role includes training staff, performing pre-production builds, and ensuring procedures are followed across internal and external labs. Required is a 2-year electronics degree with hands-on troubleshooting experience, plus ability to read schematics

Qualifications

  • 2-year technical degree in electronics required.
  • Experience reading electrical schematics and soldering.
  • Knowledge of J-STD and test equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Designs and fabricates prototype manual test stations and fixtures.
  • Repairs and recalibrates production testers, cables, and test fixtures.
  • Analyzes electrical schematics and determines root causes for failure modes.
  • Prototyping and troubleshooting both existing and new electronic designs.
  • Participates in pre-production builds, debug, and product testing in labs.
  • Becomes subject matter expert on a major product line.
  • Trains technicians and production staff on test procedures.
  • Reviews and improves test procedures and processes.
  • Coordinates with divisions to improve product quality.
  • Conducts laboratory or field tests and interprets results.

This Technician is the primary investigator in electronic failure analysis and reporting. Fabricates, repairs and recalibrates production testers, cables, and test fixtures. Analyzes electrical schematics and determines root causes for failure modes. A strong grasp of electrical troubleshooting principles, electronic circuitry, soldering, and non-destructive analysis is required to be successful in this position.
