HDR seeks an Electrical Engineering Team Lead in Wisconsin to supervise a diverse group of electrical engineers, EITs, and designers and to drive technical excellence across projects.

You will collaborate with fellow team leads and the Electrical Business Class Lead on staffing and proposals, while mentoring staff and promoting HDR's employee‑owned culture. The role emphasizes leadership and project execution.

Responsibilities

The Building Engineering Services Group (BES) provides industry leading mechanical, electrical, plumbing, site civil, structural, and specialty design services for a wide variety of buildings that include public, municipal, private, and

government project types. Projects are a balance of local as well as across the region and the globe. With a team of experienced staff in specific market areas such as Healthcare, Datacenters, Science and Technology, Commercial Real Estate, Finance, Hospitality, Industrial, Municipal, Manufacturing,

Transportation, and Federal facilities; we provide engineering excellence for our clients.

We are searching for Electrical Team Lead at our location in Milwaukee or Madison, Wisconsin.

In the role of the Electrical Team Lead, you will have the opportunity to:

• Assist the Electrical Business Class Lead with management and culture of the overall business class by being the direct supervisor of a team of electrical engineers, EITs and designers with varying degree of experience
• Work as a collaborative team with fellow Team Leads and the Electrical Business Class Lead for work staffing and project proposals
• Provide team leadership with a focus on technical excellence, quality, recruiting, mentoring, and staff development
• Collaborate closely with electrical market sector leadership to ensure technical excellence in all key markets including commercial, civic, industrial, federal, water, transportation, healthcare, education and laboratories and mission critical facilities
• Function as design lead or engineering project manager for key projects.
• Implement, monitor, and support company policy
• Works collaboratively with other team leads, business class lead, operations managers, technical directors and marketing managers on business class efforts
• Actively encourage and participate in work-sharing and electrical practice development with a nation-wide network of HDR Electrical Business Class
• Assist the Electrical Business Class Lead in the recruitment and growth of the business class
• Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or Architectural Engineering with electrical emphasis.
• Experienced in development and management of diverse teams
• Preference given to local candidates.
