Job summary

University of California, Merced invites applications for Teaching Fellow positions in the School of Engineering for AY 2026-2027 and Summer Session 2026. Fellows will teach lower- and upper-division Electrical Engineering courses and related subjects under a faculty supervisor.

Responsibilities include leading instruction, grading, discussion sections when appropriate, and holding office hours. Applicants must be Ph.D.

Qualifications

• Advanced to candidacy for the Ph.D.
• Maintenance of a qualifying grade point average
• Must be registered UC Merced graduate student in full-time residence (12 units per term appointed; for summer appointment 12 units in the previous term)
• Must have passed an Oral English Proficiency Examination (if applicable)

Responsibilities

• Lead instruction of a course under supervision of a faculty member.
• Grading and discussion sections when appropriate.
• Hold office hours for students.
