Job summary

The Electronic Fabrication and Test Systems Department (ESRD) within Penn State's Applied Research Laboratory seeks a Technical Engineering Specialist to support layout, fabrication, assembly, documentation, and testing of electronic equipment and systems. This on-site role in State College, PA includes occasional travel to remote locations and eligibility for U.S.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree and 2+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• For Professional level: Associate Degree; no prior experience required; or equivalent accepted.

Responsibilities

• Assist with layout, fabrication, assembly, documentation, and testing of standard and non-standard electronic equipment.
• Assist with material selection and interaction with vendors.
• Calibrate, operate, and maintain equipment and experimental hardware in the lab or field; identify and repair faults.
• Assist in gathering, compiling, and archiving test data in the lab or off-site.
• Work as part of a test project support team in various locations.
