Job summary

IMEG Corporation is seeking an Electrical Engineering New Graduate to join the Seattle, WA office (or Portland/Vancouver area). You will work with experienced engineers and gain hands-on design, analysis, and project execution experience with mentorship and training from day one.

You will assist with electrical systems design and analysis for buildings, collaborating across hospitality, mixed-use, government, and MEP markets while advancing energy-efficient design aligned with industry standards.

Qualifications

  • BS in Electrical Engineering required or equivalent.
  • EIT or equivalent required.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical design for buildings.
  • Familiarity with engineering software and codes.

Responsibilities

  • Assist design and analysis of electrical systems using appropriate software.

IMEG is hiring an Electrical Engineering New Graduate in Seattle, Washington or the Portland/Vancouver area to work closely with experienced engineers and consultants delivering engineering solutions and advice that support positive outcomes for clients. This entry-level role offers hands‑on design, analysis, and project execution experience, with mentorship, training, and opportunities to grow your expertise from day one.

In this role, you will assist with the analysis, design, and implementation oversight of electrical systems in buildings while working within project budgets and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations. You will support work across hospitality, mixed use, government, and MEP markets while advancing high‑performance, energy‑efficient design aligned with MEP2050 and AIA2030.

What You'll Do
  • Assist in the design and analysis of electrical systems, using engineering software and tools to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations according to code requirements and IMEG standards
  • Interact with clients to understand their needs, gather project requirements, and communicate technical information effectively
  • Build and maintain client relationships through professional communication
  • Support the execution of consulting projects as part of a project team
  • Assist with project planning and scheduling tasks to meet project deadlines and objectives
  • Help document design decisions and client instructions while monitoring project design progress
  • Analyze low to medium complexity engineering tasks and propose innovative solutions
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and consultants to develop practical and efficient solutions
  • Participate in IMEG quality control processes to ensure engineering designs and solutions meet IMEG quality standards, industry standards, and client requirements
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in electrical engineering, and contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEG
  • Prioritize safety in all aspects of engineering work and help identify and mitigate potential safety risks associated with electrical systems
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including other engineers, architects, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goals
What You'll Bring
Required
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent required
  • Engineering in Training (EIT) or equivalent required
Required Skills/Abilities
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
  • Strong technical and analytical skills including knowledge of principles relating to circuit theory, electromagnetism, power systems, and electronics as they relate to electrical systems design for buildings
  • Knowledge of industry standard engineering software and tools, including lighting photometric calculation software such as AGI, Elum Tools, Visual Lighting, or other; energy compliance software such as ComCheck; and familiar use of Adobe or Bluebeam Revu
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Attention to detail and problem‑solving skills
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges
  • Basic knowledge in the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) software
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to travel up to 5% with occasional overnight stays
Preferred
  • Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred
  • Engineering in Training (EIT) License preferred

  • Recurring work includes mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and technology scope, with additional support in energy modeling, commissioning, telecom, security, and architectural lighting on larger coordinated efforts.
  • The team shows particular strength in urban residential developments, mixed-use projects, transportation/access improvements, parks, school district work, and hospitality renovations.
  • This is a technically versatile team that handles complex, highly coordinated projects rather than narrow single‑discipline scopes.
  • Recent work includes Overlake East Phase I, Housing / Multi‑family, and Sound Transit Auburn Station Parking & Access Improvement, Transportation.

State of Washington Salary Range: $76,000-$80,000 per year

The range listed above represents the base pay IMEG reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position in the work location identified above at the time of posting. For positions available in multiple locations, the minimums and maximums may vary based on work location.

Individual compensation will be determined based on job‑related factors, including the candidate's experience, education, knowledge, skills, abilities, and licensure and certifications.
