Job summary

Piedmont Electric Cooperative is seeking a Manager of Engineering to plan and oversee the design, construction, and maintenance of the cooperative’s electrical distribution and transmission systems from its Hillsborough, NC headquarters. The role manages Engineering, System Design, Mapping, QA, and Dispatch, develops work plans, studies, and budgets, and ensures adherence to NESC/NEC and RUS standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field required.
• 5+ years’ experience in electric utility/power industry required.
• 8+ years’ experience with emphasis on system design, planning, and project management preferred.
• Minimum 3 years in a leadership, supervisory, or team lead role.

Responsibilities

• Plan and oversee design, construction, and maintenance of distribution/transmission systems.
• Lead a department including Engineering, System Design, Mapping, QA, and Dispatch.
• Develop construction work plans, system studies, and budgets; ensure code compliance.
• Direct engineering and technical design; coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Supervise and mentor engineers and technical staff; manage projects for cost, schedule, quality.
