Anduril is seeking a Harness Design Engineer to lead the design and integration of advanced electrical harnesses for military ground vehicles. WHAT YOU’LL DO
* Design and develop robust wiring harnesses that form the nervous system of the most technologically advanced military vehicles on the planet
* Concurrently lead and manage multiple harnessing teams supporting different projects at various stages
* Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, systems, manufacturing and quality engineers to develop and generate system architecture wiring diagrams for prototype and production release
* Investigate, plan, develop and test harnesses to meet various technical requirements
* Research, select and procure appropriate connectors, back-shells, contacts, wire, shielding, and cable construction for the product to meet appropriate environmental requirements
* Provide the engineering expertise to design, fabricate and integrate harnesses in complex systems
* Actively participate in design reviews to pinpoint concerns and influence design decisions
* Task electrical technicians with clear instructions to build prototype harnesses in house for fast prototype builds
* Work with supply chain to identify appropriate harness manufacturers for building harnesses for production and provide correspondence when questions or issues arise
* Follow, tailor and develop internal standards and requirements that are appropriate for each individual project
* Work in a fast-paced environment supporting new designs, active deployments, and customer operated hardware
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
* 5+ years hands-on experience designing electrical harnessing for rugged commercial, industrial, aerospace, or military applications
* Able to both design and manage multiple teams working on different projects to ensure harness designs, releases and builds are completed on time to meet schedule
* Proven track record of collaborating with harness manufacturers to ensure product excellence and reliability
* Proficient in a range of electrical bus interfaces, including CAN, Ethernet, and various RS protocols, as well as 1553
* Well-versed in relevant harness standards and adept at adhering to MIL-STD regulations
* Skilled in optimizing Size, Weight, and Power (SWaP) considerations for advanced power systems and network designs
* Competent in creating and interpreting wire block interconnect and wire diagrams
* Outstanding organizational abilities coupled with superior written and verbal communication skills
* Must be eligible to receive a US Security Clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Build 3D routed harness data files applying NX Cabling and Siemens Capital Harness
* Experience with or proficient in 3D CAD wire harness routing, such as (NX, CATIA, CREO)
* Able to read and generate form board drawings in 2D CAD for production
The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only.
