Fairfield University seeks an Electrical Engineering Laboratory Technician to support laboratories and makerspaces across the School of Engineering and Computing. The role involves maintaining equipment, ensuring safety, and assisting faculty, staff, and students in scheduled courses and research activities.
Ideal candidates will have hands-on technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to a safe learning environment. This is a 12-month role with occasional after-hours work as needed.

Basic Function:
The Electrical Engineering Laboratory Technician supports theinstructional and research activities of the entire School ofEngineering and Computing as it pertains to Laboratories andMakerspaces, by preparing, maintaining, and operating laboratoryequipment and facilities. The technician works closely withfaculty, staff, and students to ensure that electrical engineeringlaboratories are safe, functional, well-organized, and ready forscheduled courses and research activities.
The successful candidate will have strong hands-on technicalskills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a safeand effective learning environment.

Essential Functions:
Infrastructure : Maintain the physical space and equipment inlaboratories and makerspaces.
Academic programs : Support the delivery of courses and curriculumfor the offerings in the School that require lab facilities,including:
Professional Development: Maintain relevancy through upskilling,training and/or licensure on equipment and technologies an annualbasis.
Process improvement: Constantly find ways to improve the efficiencyof the various processes and activities in the lab and academicprograms.
Teamwork : Contribute to an environment of collaboration within theSchool of Engineering
Work Schedule: 12-month role. Work hours: 8:30 am-4:30 pm.
