Job summary

Amentum is seeking an experienced engineer to advance electrical testing of high-reliability, radiation-hardened microelectronics used in DoD systems. Responsibilities include designing test interfaces, PCBs, and automated test software, plus contributing to test documentation and reviews.

The role requires a BS in electrical engineering with 10+ years in microelectronics, strong lab skills, and the ability to work across functions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and ten years’ relevant experience with microelectronics and/or electronic components.
  • Experience with lab test equipment such as oscilloscopes, meters, and analyzers.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an active Secret clearance (Interim clearance required to start). US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

  • Interface with customers in design reviews and technical working group meetings to comply with requirements and specifications.

Job description

This position will be responsible for the development of electrical testing of high reliability, radiation hardened, trusted microelectronic components used in various strategic systems throughout the DoD. The incumbent will be responsible for developing test packages for electronic components to include designing test interface hardware, developing test circuit schematics, conducting printed circuit board layout, writing software code to control automated test equipment (ATE), aiding in test procedure development, environmental, mechanical, and other various test support as assigned.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Design, development, and simulation of test circuits for characterization and evaluation of microelectronic components.
  • Design and development of printed circuit boards.
  • Design and development of automated test programs.
  • Data collection on test components and data reviews performed by others.
  • Complete portions or sections of analysis and design reviews.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports and correspondence.
  • Track and maintain project development status.
  • Develop, maintain and produce technical documentation and system/subsystem specifications.
  • Interface with customers in design reviews and technical working group meetings to comply with requirements and specifications.
  • Verify and comply with engineering documentation standards and test procedures.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and ten (10) years’ relevant experience with microelectronics and / or electronic components
  • Experience with lab test equipment such as oscilloscopes, meters, and analyzers
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Motivated and creative with the ability to work effectively across several different functional areas in a collaborative environment
  • Well organized and able to handle multiple projects
  • Ability to be a team player and receive mentoring from senior engineers and leadership
  • Aptitude for solving technical problems and creating customer solutions
  • Understanding of concepts, theories, and methods related to the composition, structure, and properties of microelectronics

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Microelectronic component test experience
  • Knowledge of Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools such as Altium, Eagle, LTSPICE, etc.
  • Some programming experience with Python, C, C++, VisualBasic, git, or Labview.
  • Basic analog or design knowledge of circuit boards or ASICs.
  • Understanding of noise and repeatable test measurements.
  • Knowledge and understanding of microelectronic fabrication processes and techniques.
  • Active Secret or Top-Secret security clearance
Compensation Details:

120,000-190,190 annually
