Job summary

The Toro Company (TTC) invites talented electrical engineering interns to join our Battery and Systems Engineering Team in Bloomington, Minnesota this summer. You will work alongside staff engineers on developing battery and electrical products, gaining hands-on experience and contributing to design, testing, and documentation.

Qualified candidates are pursuing an ABET-accredited Electrical or Electronics Engineering program, with interest in electrical design, embedded systems, and batteries.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering in an ABET-accredited program.
  • Interest in electrical design, embedded systems, and batteries.
  • Basic proficiency with circuit analysis, digital logic and control systems.
  • Familiarity with programming (C/C++, Python, MATLAB) is a plus.

  • Work with staff engineers to develop battery and electrical products.
  • Assists in development, debugging, and improvement of systems.
  • Participate in design, validation, and testing activities.
  • Contribute to design and validation documentation.

Job description

The 2027 Summer Internship Program will run from May 17, 2027, through August 6, 2027. Candidates must be available to start on May 17 and participate through the duration of the program.

What Will You Do?


  • Part of the Battery and Systems Engineering Team working alongside electrical, software, mechanical, systems, and battery engineers developing battery and electrical products.

  • Hands-on role working with staff engineers to develop technical and professional skills.

  • Support the development, debugging and/or improvement of battery and electrical systems on products.

  • Participate in new product design and development processes.

  • Help investigate and resolve design and development issues.

  • Participate in the validation and testing of electrical and battery electronics and systems.

  • Contribute in the creation of design and validation documentation.


What Do You Need?

We require interns to be enrolled in an educational program during the duration of the internship program.


Pursuing a degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or similar engineering discipline in an ABET accredited Engineering program required.



  • Experience and interest in areas of electrical design, embedded systems, control, or batteries is desired.

  • Genuine curiosity and willingness to understand how our products are designed, built, and operate required.

  • Basic proficiency with electrical and electronic concepts (circuit analysis, digital logic, control systems, electronics or similar) required.

  • Basic proficiency with a programming language (C, C++, Python, MATLAB, or similar) desired.

  • Knowledge or experience with test and measurement equipment (oscilloscopes, digital logic analyzers, digital multimeters, or similar) desired.

  • Proficient teamwork and communication skills desired.
