Job summary

WSP USA invites aspiring Electrical Engineering students to join our Columbia, MD office as a Summer 2027 Intern. This full-time internship is for students currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program and runs a 12-week program starting May 17, 2027.

As part of the Property & Buildings Team, you will assist with field work, preliminary design calculations, and documentation, while developing technical, social, and ethical skills and learning safe project practices.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited Electrical Engineering or related undergraduate program with anticipated graduation August 2027 or later.
• Must be 18 or older.
• Interest in Electrical Engineering and desire to advance skills on projects at WSP.
• Strong interpersonal and communicational abilities with engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Able to take direction from mentors and leadership to execute projects.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software and spreadsheets.
• Committed to workplace safety and adherence to policies.
• Authorized to work in the United States at internship start.

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Learn basic principles of Electrical Engineering.
• Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
• Support preparation of final design plans, provisions, and cost estimates.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Adhere to WSP Code of Conduct and policies.
