Rocket Lab is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 program in Long Beach, CA. You will participate in development and test of avionics hardware for spacecraft programs, working with engineers across disciplines from requirements to production.

The role emphasizes hands‑on hardware development, mentorship, and growth in a fast‑paced environment. Minimum 12 weeks starting May/June 2027 is required, on‑site.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a bachelor’s, master’s or doctorate degree program in an engineering, computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, physics or math discipline and have at least one semester of school remaining post internship.
• GPA of 3.0 or above.
• 3+ months of applied engineering experience (internship, laboratory, and personal/team project experience is applicable)

AsanElectricalEngineering Intern based at Rocket Lab’s site in Long Beach, California, you willhave the opportunity toparticipatein the development and test of avionics hardware for our spacecraft programs.You will work collaboratively with engineers of various disciplines andparticipatein all aspects of electrical hardware development, from requirements definition through design, prototyping, fabrication, testing, and production.

YOU’LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS

3+ months of applied engineering experience (internship, laboratory, and personal/team project experience is applicable)

THESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE

GPA of 3.5 or above

6+ months of applied engineering experience (internship, laboratory, and personal/team project experience is applicable)

Experience with a schematic capture tool (preferably Altium)

Familiarity with electronics test equipment such asmultimeters, andoscilloscopes

Knowledge of programming/scripting languages: C/C++, Python, VHDL, Verilog 5.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Able to work full-time, on-site for a minimum of 12 consecutive weeks beginning May or June 2027

COMPENSATION AND OTHER BENEFITS

Pay Range CA: $28.00 USD Hourly

You may be eligible for a stipend to subsidize relocation costs

Level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
