DwyerOmega is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern for the Lake Shore Cryotronics Instrument products, in Westerville, OH. You’ll be paired with a mentor and work on real-world projects in both office and lab settings to develop precision instrumentation.

The internship expects students pursuing Electrical or Computer Engineering degrees, with familiarity in PCB design, firmware (C/Python), and data analysis. On-site work and a strong collaborative spirit are required.

What You’ll Do

As an Electrical Engineering Intern for the Lake Shore Cryotronics Instrument products , you’ll be matched with a mentor and dive into real-world projects in both office and lab settings. You’ll contribute to the development of precision instrumentation.

Essential Job Functions

• Circuit Design & Testing: Improve analog and digital circuitry for enhanced performance.
• Data Acquisition & Analysis: Work with high-volume data from advanced systems.
• Technology Research: Investigate emerging materials and electronics.
• Device Evaluation: Analyze semiconductors and quantum materials using cutting-edge tools.
• Team Collaboration: Support cross-functional engineering teams on impactful projects.

Requirements

• Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Experience using AI tools to enhance technical workflows.
• Familiarity with PCB design, simulation software, and firmware development (C or Python preferred).
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit.
• Commitment to confidentiality and professional integrity.

Work Environment

This position operates in both professional office and laboratory environments. The employee will regularly divide time between desk-based work, data analysis, project meetings, and hands-on laboratory activities. Laboratory environments may include exposure to chemicals, laboratory equipment, testing materials, etc. The use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, lab coats, or other required protective gear may be required when working in laboratory areas.

Physical Requirements

To successfully perform the essential functions of this position, the employee must be able to:

• Remain in a stationary position and work at a computer for extended periods of time.
• Frequently alternate between sitting, standing, and walking throughout office and laboratory environments.
• Occasionally lift, carry, push, and/or move materials, equipment, and supplies weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Visually inspect equipment, instruments, test samples, data, and work areas.
