Job summary

Kimley-Horn is seeking Electrical Engineering students to join our Charlotte, North Carolina office on the Renewable Energy team. This is not a remote position.

You will gain exposure to solar/energy projects with a focus in battery storage and PV, and assist with technical specification, report writing, and cost research for electrical equipment. Collaboration across disciplines will help deliver client visions while you learn industry standards and regulatory considerations.

Qualifications

  • In the process of receiving an ABET accredited Electrical Engineering Degree (Bachelors or Masters)

Responsibilities

  • Our Electrical teams work on a wide variety of projects, such as photometrics and lighting, power distribution, EV charging, and more.
  • Gain exposure to solar/energy projects with a focus in battery storage and PV.
  • Assist with technical specification and report writing electrical equipment cost research.
  • Utilize technical software programs on a regular basis to analyze, produce, and QC deliverables for our clients.
  • Solve complex problems, assist project managers, and collaborate across disciplines to produce our clients’ visions for the future built environment.
  • Develop familiarity with the federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Kimley-Horn’s and our client’s practices, procedures, and standards.
