Job summary

Teck Alaska Incorporated, Red Dog Operations, is seeking an Electrical Engineering Shareholder Intern for an on-site role at Red Dog Mine, AK. The program offers a 4x2 rotation (two weeks on-site, two weeks off-site) and opportunities to work under a senior engineer.

Responsibilities include updating drawings, supporting maintenance planning, and potentially delivering a small design project for an undergraduate thesis, with emphasis on safety and hands-on learning.

Qualifications

• NANA Regional Corporation Shareholder
• Education: 1-3 years in accredited engineering school
• Mining or heavy industrial experience preferred
• Experience with condition monitoring equipment
• Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD or similar) is a plus

Responsibilities

• Update as-built documentation and reflect changes in drawings and manuals
• Support project scoping, field observations, time/motion studies, material take-offs
• Perform design tasks to support maintenance and small plant upgrades
• Assist in maintenance planning and installation requirements
• If qualified, execute a small design project for undergraduate thesis
• Take ideas from a senior engineer and develop them toward implementation
• Other related duties as assigned
