Job summary

AMETEK, a world-class electrical motor manufacturer, offers an internship for engineering students to gain real-world experience in the design, development, and testing of brushless and brushed motors, drives, and related automation sub-systems.

You will collaborate with experienced engineers and technicians to design, test, document, and validate new products, build and validate performance, and develop test software and hardware for automated measurements.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
• Sophomore or higher-level standing.
• Coursework or experience related to electrical engineering principles.
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to organize thoughts, files, and data well.
• Team player with proactive attitude, able to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Work with engineers to design, test, document, and validate new products.
• Build, document, and validate electro-mechanical performance of motors, drives, and circuitry.
• Alleviate design issues and/or improve designs through the engineering change procedure.
• Execute tests, analyze data, and generate technical reports to inform management.
• Develop GUI and electronic hardware to perform automated tests.
• Write or edit code to debug test simulation and/or equipment.
