Job summary

North Wind, a leader in hypersonic technologies and wind tunnel facilities, offers an Electrical Engineering Intern position to design, develop, test, and document electrical systems and control equipment. You will work with experienced engineers on electromechanical components and support facility upgrades.

You will gain hands-on experience in design documentation, problem solving, and cross-functional collaboration, while contributing to projects from R&D to testing in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Coursework in circuits, control systems, instrumentation, or power distribution.
• Familiarity with electrical schematics and engineering drawings is beneficial.
• Experience with CAD or electrical design software is a plus.
• Strong analytical and written/verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test electrical systems and electromechanical components.
• Review engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, BOMs, and panel layouts.
• Select and size components like relays, circuit breakers, switches, and motors.
• Develop control systems with sensors, valves, servos, and motors.
• Support calculations, load assessments, and design validation.
• Create design specs, test plans, reports, and presentations.
• Collaborate with teams to troubleshoot during assembly and testing.
• Participate in design reviews and project meetings.
• Assist with project planning to meet schedule, budget, and quality.
• Support proposal development with preliminary designs and technical research.
