Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. seeks an Electrical Engineering Intern for Engineering Services in Boise, Idaho.

You will support staff and customers, develop knowledge of SEL processes, and perform testing on new and existing technology in a fast-paced power systems environment. The role requires a student in Electrical Engineering with at least one year of coursework, capable of on-site work, and with programming experience.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering with at least one year of technical coursework completed.
• Willing to work on-site in Boise, ID full-time during summer and part-time during school year.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to SEL staff & customers.
• Develop and maintain knowledge in SEL processes and technologies.
• Perform testing on new and existing technology.
• Assist engineers with electrical enclosure and test rack creation.
• Develop simulators and perform tests for customer Protection/Automation systems.
• Assist with HMI creation, PLC programming.
• Assist with Power system studies and SEL relay settings.
• Perform research into and testing on new tools and technologies.
