Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. seeks an Electrical Engineering Intern for the Engineering Services group in Plymouth, Michigan. The role supports protecting and controlling critical electrical infrastructure and power systems worldwide while gaining real-world experience.

Responsibilities include technical support, testing, simulators, HMI creation, and PLC programming, with a flexible schedule to accommodate classes. Interns may be hired full-time after graduation.

Competenze

• Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering with at least one year of coursework completed.
• Experience in programming and scripting.
• Practical knowledge of 3-phase power systems.
• Working knowledge of emulators and logic analyzers.
• Able to use Windows and serial port terminal emulation software.
• Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
• Willingness to learn new skills and join a team.

Mansioni

• Provide technical support to SEL staff & customers.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of SEL processes & technologies.
• Perform testing on new and existing technology.
• Assist engineers with electrical enclosure and test rack creation.
• Develop simulators and perform tests for Protection/Automation systems.
• Assist with HMI creation and PLC programming.
• Assist with power system studies and SEL relay settings.
• Conduct research and testing on new tools and technologies.
• Other duties as assigned.
