Hut8 in Miami is offering an Electrical Engineering internship focused on data-center infrastructure. You will learn hands-on about electrical systems, from utility interconnects to power distribution, while supporting diagrams and coordination studies under licensed PEs.

Ideal candidates are pursuing an Electrical Engineering degree, graduating in 2027 or 2028, with a GPA of 3.3 or higher, and familiarity with AutoCAD, MATLAB, or Python.

Qualificações

• Enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Graduating December 2027 or June 2028 with undergraduate or graduate degree.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3.
• Coursework in circuits, power systems, electromagnetics or power electronics.

Responsabilidades

• Assist with electrical system designs in data-center infrastructure including utility interconnects, substations, switchgear, generators, UPS and power distribution.
• Support engineers in building one-line diagrams and running short-circuit, arc-flash, and protection coordination studies under PE supervision.
• Visit sites, track field issues from issue to fix, and observe design become construction, commissioning and energization.
• Ask critical questions about cost, constructability and redundancy; emphasize safety and reliability.
• Take ownership of a defined project and present recommendations to the team.

ABOUT THE ROLE

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

• Learn it: Get hands-on with the electrical systems behind a data center: utility interconnects, substations, switchgear, generators, UPS, and power distribution
• Support it: Help our engineers build one-line diagrams and run short-circuit, arc-flash, and protection coordination studies, with guidance and review from licensed PEs
• See it built: Join site visits, follow field issues from question to fix, and watch a design turn into construction, commissioning, and energization
• Challenge it: Ask hard questions about cost, constructability, and redundancy. Fresh eyes are an asset here, and safety and reliability always come first
• Own it: Take on a defined project of your own, from first question to final recommendation, and present it to the team at the end of your internship

WHAT YOU BRING

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's program in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field, such as Power or Energy Systems, Electrical Engineering Technology, Architectural Engineering (electrical/MEP), or Computer, Mechatronics, or Nuclear Engineering with a power systems foundation
• Graduating in December 2027 or June 2028 with an undergraduate or graduate degree
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3
• Coursework in circuits, power systems, electromagnetics, or power electronics
• Real interest in critical power and data center infrastructure
• Comfort with AutoCAD, MATLAB, or Python, and the ability to pick up new engineering software quickly
• Track record of personal accountability, integrity, and respect for others, the company, and oneself
• Exceptional interpersonal skills to support team cohesion and successful project execution
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for working with diverse groups and individuals
• Comfortable working in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities and multiple deadlines, while contributing to inclusive and cooperative teams
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

BUILT FOR THIS

If you are curious, hungry to learn, drawn to hard problems, willing to ask "why," and ready to do real work from week one.

• You've used SKM, ETAP, EasyPower, or similar power-system software in a class or lab
• You've worked or interned in construction, utilities, or industrial settings, or built something hands-on
