Job summary

Clark Nexsen in Raleigh is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to support the design department with tasks from project design to documentation, gaining practical experience and contributing to client projects.

You will assist with drawings, modeling, site visits, RFI responses, and collaboration with architects and engineers while learning standards and best practices under supervision. This is a full-time student role with exposure to building projects.

Qualifications

• Pursuing ABET-accredited undergrad in Architectural or Electrical Engineering.
• Familiar with design software and office tools.
• Demonstrates teamwork and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior or lead with basic design tasks, including research, simple studies, and layout support.
• Help prepare drawings and documents for programming, schematic design, modeling, graphics, design development, and construction phases.
• Support the creation of presentation and marketing materials.
• Assist with construction phase activities, including site visits, RFI responses, shop drawings, and updating record drawings.
• Follow established quality control procedures and ask questions as needed.
• Learn and apply department and company standards and best practices.
• Develop basic design, analysis, and technical skills through hands-on experience.
• Participate in team meetings and collaborate with team members.
• Receive guidance and direction from supervisors and team leaders.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, interior designers, and other multidisciplinary team members.
