Hatch is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern in Tampa, FL. Reporting to the Project Delivery Group, you will support offices globally while working from our Tampa office.

The role emphasizes hands-on experience in power systems, instrumentation, and controls within a safety-conscious, collaborative environment. Ideal candidates are pursuing an electrical or chemical engineering degree with a minimum 3.0 GPA and an interest in controls or computer science.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering or chemical engineering with an interest in controls or computer science.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Electrical Engineers in preparing engineering calculations such as load flow analysis and short circuit analysis.
  • Prepare technical specifications for equipment procurement and construction contracts; write reports for power system studies such as arc flash analysis, protective device coordination, and transient stability studies.
  • Acquire knowledge in power distribution systems, instrumentation and controls, switchgear, stand-by power systems, load and fault current calculations, power flow and short-circuit analysis, SCADA and telemetry, lighting systems, and NEC code compliance.
  • Gain valuable on-site practical experience.
