You’ll work with electrical engineers and cross-functional teams to apply classroom knowledge to real engineering challenges. Projects may involve vehicle electrical systems, embedded controls, wire harness design, schematics, and prototype builds.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
  • Interest in vehicle electrical systems, embedded systems, controls, or electrical product development.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with engineering and cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to relocate to Oshkosh, WI for the duration of the summer internship.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the design, development, and integration of vehicle electrical and embedded control systems.
  • Assisting with electrical system architecture, component selection, and design activities.
  • Developing wire harness designs using 3D modeling tools such as CATIA or CREO.
  • Creating and updating electrical schematics using tools such as E3 Series or CREO Schematics.
  • Supporting prototype, pilot, and production vehicle builds on the assembly floor.
  • Collaborating with suppliers, customers, manufacturing teams, and other engineering disciplines to solve technical challenges.

Depending on your project assignment, you may gain experience with **vehicle electrical systems, embedded controls, wire harness design, electrical schematics, component selection, prototype builds, testing, or troubleshooting**.Throughout your internship, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful engineering work, build your technical skills, and see your designs and solutions come to life on real products.## ## YOUR IMPACTAs an Electrical Engineering Intern, your responsibilities may include:* Supporting the design, development, and integration of vehicle electrical and embedded control systems* Assisting with electrical system architecture, component selection, and design activities* Selecting components with consideration for performance, quality, reliability, cost, weight, and manufacturability* Developing wire harness designs using 3D modeling tools such as CATIA or CREO* Creating and updating electrical schematics using tools such as E3 Series or CREO Schematics* Supporting circuit analysis and other engineering calculations* Developing and maintaining bills of materials and engineering documentation* Supporting prototype, pilot, and production vehicle builds on the assembly floor* Troubleshooting electrical systems and providing technical support during vehicle builds and testing* Participating in testing and validation activities to evaluate electrical system performance* Collaborating with suppliers, customers, manufacturing teams, and other engineering disciplines to solve technical challenges* Identifying opportunities to improve electrical designs, processes, reliability, and manufacturability* Documenting engineering findings, design decisions, test results, and recommendations## ## MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS* Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in **Electrical Engineering** or a closely related engineering field* Interest in vehicle electrical systems, embedded systems, controls, or electrical product development* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills* Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with engineering and cross-functional teams* Willingness to learn new engineering tools, technologies, and processes* Willingness to travel or relocate to **Oshkosh, WI** for the duration of the summer internship*Summer housing is available to interns whose permanent address is more than 50 miles from their work location.*## ## STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONSExperience, coursework, or interest in one or more of the following is a plus:* Vehicle electrical systems* Embedded systems or controls* Electrical circuit design and analysis* Wire harness design* Electrical schematics* CATIA or CREO* E3 Series or CREO Schematics* CAD or 3D modeling* CAN or other vehicle communication networks* Electronics, sensors, or electronic control units (ECUs)* Hands-on electrical troubleshooting, testing, or lab work* Manufacturing or prototype environments* Engineering clubs, design teams, research, or hands-on technical projects## ## EXPERIENCE YOU WILL GAINThrough this internship, you will have the opportunity to:* Apply electrical engineering concepts to real-world vehicle and product development* Gain hands-on experience with electrical systems, components, and engineering tools* Understand how electrical designs move from concept through prototype, testing, and production* Work directly with engineers, suppliers, manufacturing teams, and other technical professionals* Develop troubleshooting, problem-solving, design, and technical communication skills* Gain exposure to the integration of electrical, mechanical, software, and control systems* Contribute to meaningful engineering projects with a tangible impact on Oshkosh products## ## WHY OSHKOSH?Moving the future forward is our priority—and that includes your future.
