Job summary

Mead & Hunt, Inc. is seeking a limited-term, full-time summer Electrical Engineering intern to support the Architecture & Building Engineering Group in West Allis, WI.

The role involves assisting with electrical design tasks for airport, government, and private clients. Ideal candidates will have two semesters of electrical or architectural engineering coursework, familiarity with design software (Revit, AGI-32, Easypower, SKM PTW) and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Completion of at least two college semesters in electrical or architectural engineering.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel minimally.
• Strong communication and organizational skills, able to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers and design technicians on electrical engineering projects.
• Perform design calculations, quantities, and cost estimates.
• Assist in preparing project reports.
• May perform field inspections when needed.
• Other related tasks as assigned by mentors.

As a result of our continued growth, we have an exciting opportunity available for a limited-term, full-time summer Electrical Engineering intern starting May/June 2027 and ending in August/September 2027 with our Architecture & Building Engineering (A&BE) Group. The A&BE Group focuses on the design of buildings for airport, government, and private clients. This internship is available at our office location in West Allis, WI.

Responsibilities include:

• Assisting engineers and design technicians with electrical engineering projects
• Performing design calculations, quantities, and cost estimates
• Assisting with preparing project reports
• May also perform field inspections on occasion
• Other tasks as assigned

A valid driver's license and minimal travel will be required.

Successful candidates must have completed at least two semesters of college-level coursework in electrical or architectural engineering from an accredited college or university.

The ideal candidate may have any/all the following:

• Experience with Revit, AGI-32, Easypower, and/or SKM PTW software
• Previous electrical building design coursework
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software programs (such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
