Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs is seeking an intern in East Chicago, IN to support maintenance/engineering efforts. The role involves performing and improving maintenance of equipment, reading blueprints, and assisting with project planning and cost control.

Responsibilities

  • Recommend and/or perform predictive, preventative, and emergency maintenance of equipment
  • Research, design, evaluate, install, modernize, re-design, operate, maintain, and repair machinery and equipment
  • Resolve equipment malfunctions, including those requiring scheduled shutdowns or breakdown action
  • Participate in planning, scheduling, and cost control of maintenance/engineering projects
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports
  • Analyze current operating performance and standard operating procedures and make recommendations for improvement
  • Various other projects as needed to support the business
