Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT) is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to join the Hunt Valley, MD office. You will work closely with engineers on data entry, making changes to drawings, and assisting with the design of small projects, gaining hands-on experience in our Facilities MEP practice.

As a junior or senior engineering student, you will support layout/design, documentation, and problem-solving using fundamental engineering concepts.

Electrical Engineering Intern

Position Summary

JMT is seeking an Electrical Engineering Student entering their Junior or Senior year. The position will be responsible for various tasks and projects to enhance their experience in the field utilizing their education. The intern will be a member of our growing Facilities MEP Engineering practice in the Hunt Valley, MD office. The intern will be asked to work closely with engineering employees to carry out an array of assigned tasks. The tasks will range from data entry, making changes to existing engineering drawings to design of small engineering projects in addition to documentation and field support of Commissioning activities. Other duties include, but are not limited to, assembling data and assisting with problem-solving requiring basic theories and engineering fundamentals; utilizing computer programs to solve engineering problems; assisting with layout and design of routine small and medium-sized engineering projects, specification development or preparation, technical evaluation of equipment and material, and maintaining accurate and current project documentation.

Immigration sponsorship or support (e.g. H1B, F-1 CPT/OPT/STEM OPT) is not available for this position, except for qualified candidates eligible for the TN visa classification.

Compensation for this position is $22-27/hourly, commensurate with experience, education and certifications. The provided range is a good faith estimate based on the requirements described within the job description. We notice that we receive a wide variety of applicants and recognize that the person selected may be less experienced or more experienced. Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Working Conditions

Work is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
