Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT) is seeking an Electrical Engineering Student in their Junior or Senior year for an internship in Hunt Valley, MD. The intern will assist with data entry, drawing changes, and small project design while supporting commissioning activities and documentation.

Candidates should be a full-time engineering student with ABET-accredited mechanical engineering background and a willingness to work in a team across offices.

Qualifications

• Full time student in engineering; Equivalency of a Junior or Senior status from an ABET Accredited mechanical engineering degree program.
• Ability to successfully function in a fast paced cooperative team environment spanning across multiple offices.
• Desire to participate and excel with a broad range of project types, roles, customers and tasks.

• Make edits and updates to existing engineering drawings and projects
• Coordinate new small-scale projects

Position Summary: JMT is seeking an Electrical Engineering Student entering their Junior or Senior year. The position will be responsible for various tasks and projects to enhance their experience in the field utilizing their education. The intern will be a member of our growing Facilities MEP Engineering practice in the Hunt Valley, MD office. The intern will be asked to work closely with engineering employees to carry out an array of assigned tasks. The tasks will range from data entry, making changes to existing engineering drawings to design of small engineering projects in addition to documentation and field support of Commissioning activities. Other duties include, but are not limited to, assembling data and assisting with problem‑solving requiring basic theories and engineering fundamentals; utilizing computer programs to solve engineering problems; assisting with layout and design of routine small and medium‑sized engineering projects, specification development or preparation, technical evaluation of equipment and material, and maintaining accurate and current project documentation.

Compensation for this position is $22.00-$27.00/hour, commensurate with experience, education and certifications.

Workign Conditions

Work is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
