You’ll engage in electrical design, controls and automation projects, participate in immersive training at the Cleveland HQ initially, with travel provided, and advance through a structured development track within a global leader in welding and automation.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing or having achieved a bachelor's degree in engineering by June 2027.
  • Eligible to work in the U.S. on a full-time, permanent basis without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and implement electrical, controls, and automation improvements to existing manufacturing equipment to enhance safety, reliability, quality, and efficiency.
  • Support the development, programming, and troubleshooting of industrial controls systems.
  • Collaborate with engineers, maintenance, and production teams on capital projects, equipment upgrades, and production support.
  • Assist with manufacturing digitalization and industry 4.0 initiatives, including equipment connectivity, data collection
  • Gain hands-on engineering experience through electrical design and documentation, system testing, and troubleshooting.

Overview of the Program

This Electrical Engineering Harris Products Group Development Program is an ideal entry point to the vast opportunities available to you within the organization. Completing this development program will help you gain in-depth knowledge about Harris Products Group's solutions which include brazing, soldering, welding, cutting and specialty gas equipment. This Electrical Engineering Development Program will provide meaningful experiences that will build upon your education. This position will challenge your engineering skills and provide an opportunity to grow your engineering career. This position requires participation in our Immersion Day at our Cleveland, OH headquarters during one of your first few weeks. Lincoln Electric will provide and cover all travel arrangements and expenses. Our comprehensive training program will continue at the Mason, Ohio Harris Products Group headquarters.

What You'll Work On

Basic Qualifications
  • Pursuing or having achieved a bachelor's degree in engineering by June 2027
  • Eligible to work in the U.S. on a full-time, permanent basis without sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications
  • Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Prior hands-on experience with machinery or equipment
  • Desire to work in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Coursework, internship, co-op, or project experience involving PLC programming and industrial controls.
  • Familiarity with electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Understanding of industrial networking and communication protocols.
  • Exposure to FANUC robotics and automated manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of vision systems and sensor integration.
  • Experience with SCADA systems and human-machine interfaces (HMIs).
  • Programming experience with Python.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
  • Demonstrated interest in automation, controls, robotics, or manufacturing technologies.
