Job summary

Tepa Companies is looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to perform and oversee engineering designs of electrical infrastructure at Tinker AFB. This role requires a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and a Licensed Professional Engineer status.

The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in electrical design, particularly for buildings. Responsibilities include designing electrical systems, conducting evaluations, and participating in inspections. This role also involves supporting other disciplines as needed.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in general electrical design of buildings/infrastructure.
• Knowledge of design for Department of Defense facilities is desirable.
• Good knowledge of Internal Building Code, NFPA Life Safety Code, and other standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide electrical technical and engineering support in the design of building systems.
• Conduct engineering evaluations and provide recommendations for improvements.
• Design electrical systems based on the DOD/Tinker AFB specifications.
• Participate in final on-site inspections.

About The Job

The Tepa Companies are seeking an Electrical Engineer who will perform and oversee engineering designs of all types of electrical infrastructure and facilities on Tinker AFB.

Job Functions

• Provides electrical technical and engineering support in the design of the building systems (Power, Lighting, Grounding, Lightning protection).
• Provides support in engineering evaluations and recommendations for improvements.
• Provides in-depth assessments and cost estimates for electrical projects.
• Designs electrical systems based on the DOD/Tinker AFB specifications.
• Provides technical reviews of Submittals, Requests for Information and internal design drawings.
• Participates in final on-site inspections.
• Supports the other disciplines as needed.
• Provides support to the Damage Assessment Team (DAT) program.
• Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related degree from an ABET-accredited program
• 10+ years of experience in general electrical design of buildings/infrastructure
• Licensed Professional Engineer
• Willing to submit to a background check
• Knowledge of design for Department of Defense facilities (desirable not required)
• Knowledge of the Internal Building Code, NFPA Life Safety Code, ASCE 7, ACI Standards, AISC Standards, and Unified Facilities Criteria
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project Schedule) and AutoCAD
• Strong knowledge of codes and good planning skills
